A Sibela jewel is a timeless investment. Taking good care of your jewelry will help maintain its splendor, shine, and longevity.

Below, we'll give you some helpful tips on how to care for and maintain your jewelry so it always looks like new.

Preserve your jewelry

All jewelry is beautiful, yet delicate. Especially silver jewelry with a gold finish. These pieces are coated with a thin layer of gold. This plating is sensitive to multiple factors such as rubbing, perfumes, creams, chemicals, perspiration, skin pH, and even external agents like sun exposure or salt water.

For these reasons, we ask you to follow these few tips to ensure your jewelry remains unchanged over time.

1 – After use, clean them with a cotton cloth to remove any traces of chemicals or perspiration that may have adhered to their surface.

2 - It is highly recommended to store them in small, zip-lock plastic bags, which can be purchased at any store for a very small fee. (Please note that the box we present them in is not airtight, so keeping the jewelry in that box for an extended period of time does not prevent the jewelry from discoloring.)

3 – Never store them in humid places, since humidity would produce superficial oxidation that could damage the jewelry.

Cleaning

All Sibela jewelry has been treated with the finest materials and products to achieve its final shine and luster. However, with daily use and exposure to the elements, jewelry can gradually lose its original appearance. Therefore, it's recommended to clean your jewelry regularly. To do this, we'll give you some simple tips you can do at home.

In a medium-sized container, mix a little liquid soap with warm water. Put your jewelry in and let it sit for a few minutes, until the water reaches room temperature. Then, using a soft-bristled brush (a toothbrush works), rub the jewelry in the same solution. Once clean, rinse it thoroughly under the tap. Finally, if you have the opportunity, immerse it in distilled water before drying it. Finally, dry the piece well before storing it (this is the most recommended and appropriate way). (to remove any moisture, use a hair dryer)

Keep in mind that, as we explained above, gold-plated pieces are delicate and require extra care. If you scrub too vigorously or use a brush with very hard or abrasive bristles, you can cause them to lose their plating. Therefore, proceed with extreme caution when cleaning them.
