Although it seems like it was just yesterday that this whole project began, there's a long way to go. In March 2019, the first ideas began to appear on paper... and almost a year and seven months later, on October 1, 2020, you met him.
To understand the origins of D'lujo , you first need to know my story and that of my family. I am the fourth generation of a family of jewelers . Since I was a child, I have observed how jewelry has changed, how my family leveraged every means at its disposal to offer their best. The process of producing a piece of jewelry is neither easy nor quick, and I grew up with that.
When I decided to tell my family I wanted to continue this tradition, it was a turning point, as I knew I was beginning a path of improvement and evolution in a difficult time for the jewelry industry. My goal was, and is, to focus on youth by offering outstanding quality and price , conveying exclusivity, tradition, and elegance with each design. All of this in a jewel that will accompany whoever wears it throughout their lives. As tradition dictates, and never better said, passed down from generation to generation .
My first piece was a ring, as I'm passionate about rings. I started with what you now know as "DEEP SEA," and it wasn't easy. I'd been thinking for a long time about the perfect, feminine, and simple piece. After several jewelry design courses and hours in front of the computer, I managed to come up with my idea, the one I'd written down on paper so many times, and finally the time came to make the 3D prototype. You can't imagine what a moment of joy it was.
Once I managed to express what I wanted, we started with the production: cork mold , wax tree , casting , bathing , stone selection , polishing ... once I had the piece in my hands, you can't imagine what a feeling of satisfaction and joy I had that day.
This short paragraph you just read was, for me, eight months filled with joy, tears, frustrations, disappointments, learning experiences, steps forward, and steps back. When you surround yourself with great professionals, you realize you have a lot to learn, that it's not just an idea on paper that magically becomes something tangible.
After all that time, marked by personal improvement, I learned that all those values I had learned during the process had to characterize the brand .
But my only path in this project wasn't jewelry design . The product alone doesn't make a brand. New challenges opened up before me to explore, such as the website , positioning , photography , stone analysis ... but we'll talk about that another day. Thank you for joining me on this adventure.
