Family shapes us. It's our loved ones who, unknowingly and from early childhood, become role models . This is what happened with Juan Peña , the great source of inspiration for his son, Juan Peña, who managed to reach Isabel Peña, his granddaughter, when she founded Sibela.
His passion for jewelry came from his grandfather's expertise , which his father also inherited. The Zaragoza native founded Peña Joyeros and dedicated his entire life to a project based on love. Both Duoo and Diamberley have focused on remembering the most special moments of the couples who trusted their designs, whether with engagement jewelry or wedding rings.
Enthusiasm, effort, and hard work were the three values the jeweler relied on to overcome any challenge that might arise. Something his granddaughter has taken as an example and puts into practice with Sibela. The intense market competition and the prices of those offering lower-quality jewelry are some of the daily challenges. However, the lessons from her grandfather, who also learned from her father , have helped guide the designer through times of uncertainty, reinventing herself and using social media to engage more directly with her audience and attract new clients.
It was Juan who began creating the jewelry for his wife that Isabel would dream of years later. These creations were inspired by the jewelry box of royal women , which the jewelry designer later created for her own brand, allowing any budget to access iconic designs without sacrificing the highest quality. “I couldn't be happier to have shared his life with my grandfather; learning from him is the greatest privilege ,” says the designer.
And regardless of a jewel's price, it's the memories that truly make them valuable pieces . Isabel sees value in all of them, reminding her, always and even more so now, of her grandfather. Designing and wearing a ring that could have come from the imagination of this Zaragoza native is also a way of remembering him every day.
“It makes me happy that he's been able to see that all his efforts are rewarded and that everything he fought for continues forward. We still have a long way to go ,” Isabel says.
