Tennis or Riviere bracelet ? It's one of your favorites from Sibela and featured in our previous blog , "What's Up with Rhodium?"

Seeing its design, we would never have thought of that name, right?

At Sibela, we've already defined it as a must-have in every jewelry box , a simple, delicate piece, and I'm sure that among your group of friends there's at least one who already has it.

I'm here to tell you why it's called tennis.

Chris Evert, a former professional tennis player who played in the 1970s, has a lot to do with this story.

This bracelet was created to swear eternity . It has a special design where you can't tell where the beginning and end are, hence the name eternity bracelet.

But here comes the story you've been waiting for: Chris Evert , one of the best tennis players in history, if not the best, was in love with these eternity bracelets . Chris wore them very often; he could even be seen wearing them during tennis matches. Was it perhaps his amulet?

During a 1978 US Open match, the clasp on Chris's bracelet broke during a shot, sending the diamond bracelet careening across the court. Without hesitation, Chris called for a suspension of play until her bracelet could be found. After finding her while the match was stopped, she called it "my tennis bracelet ."

From that day on, the bracelet is known as a tennis bracelet.

We have met many tennis celebrities, like Chris, who wear these bracelets, like Serena Williams.

But this isn't the only piece we've seen Chris Evert wearing at Sibela . At one of her matches, we also saw her wearing a cross pendant , like the Croix cross , in 925 sterling silver with a rhodium finish.
